I'd like to see a way to flag self-promoting comments. I feel like all too often use leave comments like "good idea...vote for mine here..."
Honestly it just looks really bad and detracts from the general nature of this site when reading through the comments and the only reason some people comment is to self-promote. I understand that people want their idea chosen, but I feel that all too often comments on ideas fail to be productive and instead promote an nature of self-promoting ego.
At that same time though if a person legitimately links to a similar product idea this is totally acceptable and should not be removed. It may be tough to find a balance between the two but more often than not links to other Quirky products are simply self promoting.
I think it would increase the quality of the responses if self-promoting/poor language/attacking statement could be flagged for review by some sort of moderator. If a user receives some sort of warning with possible loss of commenting rights I think the whole nature of the commenting process would greatly increase.
