Influence from the latest 7 "winners"
Hi Q staff! I thought we were suppose to get influence if we voted for ideas in UC - even if we didn't vote for the actual winning idea. I voted for several ideas that made it into UC, but didn't receive any influence for the 7 ideas that were announced this morning. Has the influence process changed? Thanks!!!

Thanks for replying Rob. I don't recall all of the ideas I had voted on that were in UC - but there has not been a day in the last month and a half that there weren't multiple ideas in UC that I had voted for. I had 13 at one point last week - none of which were selected as winners. But when the new system first started I got influence for winning ideas as a result of having voted ideas in UC. Just wondering if protocols have changed. Thanks!

undecided to pretty much don't care anymore and more negative than postive
I've pretty much given up on the site because of this Rob. My time spent here is now going to go elsewhere because why get frustrated when better solutions already exist.
I voted for three times for one item already because the vote kept disappearing. Many items and selections I voted for that were chosen I never received influence for and that includes the updated bobble brush with timer. I voted for that one right after it was listed.
Mark my words, a high churn rate because of the current crap tech will destroy this company. -

1Rob - I just got influence for the Mini Mantis that was just picked - it was all influence as a result of other votes I had in UC, not because I voted for the mini mantis. So, it looks like the system is still in place to receive that level of influence - now wondering why the same thing didn't happen with the chosen ideas that were announced in the January 30th blog posting. Thanks!

1I also voted for 7 winners that were choose and three of them I didn't get influence for and the rest has very little influence. However, when I go into the Influence Register under my account, there are many "VOTED" under 0240. The influences that I see there are quite different then what I see under my Overview Screen. I hope this gets corrected.

Ok. Now I notice that the same 7 winners are not under #0240 but is now under #0249 but same problem as I mentioned above. Also, I received an email saying I got influence for #0248 but now it is gone under Influence Register? I guess there is a "burp" in the system.

It's looking to me like certain voters have been assigned % multipliers by the system.
(One voter, for example, seems to always get 1000x what most others do - having done so [getting over 2.5%] the last five times they've voted for a winner.)
If so, why? Is it even intentional?
Or is it another glitch?-
They know something the rest of us don't but Q didn't want to fix it immediately because they saw no problem. It's why I eventually listed my problem about the defective voting algorithm but I am completely fed up with this system. Here are my thoughts of what may work in case anyone wants to try and game the system like others:
Try removing votes to heighten your influence level right before Q doles out influence from the picked ideas.
Maybe Q left the rating system or other attributes in the ipad app and it still is part of the algorithm. Maybe others still use it.
I noticed there is a statistical anomaly the way Q decides the influence as well that makes no sense. It's why I rarely vote anymore because it's not relative to anything that is logical to anyone but who came up with the modification. Did I mention it's not logical? Ironically I do have proof of that but there's nothing anyone can do to change that unless they fix it themselves.
What other things do you and anyone else see that is wrong with the algorithm? -
