Influence under new Eval Beta
How is influence distributed for voting/suggesting if at all? What about collaboration influence?

Great question! Check out this new blog post about changes to voting influence. Additional tools for collaboration will be pushed out in the future. One step at a time!

I liked "Eva Beta" too, made me think of Wall-E! But I had to change it to make it searchable for more community members. :)

so if ideas are "live" for 30 days, i only need to stop in once a month... LOL.
except if i do that, then i 'might' vote for too many ideas and i'll get less influence because my weekly average will be too high??
.
i clearly don't understand the system yet. (but i'm hoping shirley will explain it to me)
.
i'm confused about how influence is "averaged". i would think that the system would be simpler (and thus more scale-able) you either voted for something... or you didn't.- view 1 more comment

Sadly it also sounds like we may miss out if we only stop in once every couple days......will there be a 3-4 day time period at least before something it pulled into consideration? Maybe even better 7 days like before and we could search for things we have not viewed yet?
Nice job on the changes as well. From what I see here so far it's the base of a nice start. If it turns out to be a solid foundation expect to see lots of ideas flowing in from me. -

>>> didja miss me?
very much so!
.
i'm totally willing to give it a chance. i'm just trying to digest the logic of the 7 day average for ideas that will stay up for possibly 4 weeks.
.
it might make more sense to give people more influence multiplied by the day they voted for it. if you vote for an idea in it's first day, you get more influence that in the 29th or 30th day.

It states "People will now receive influence if an idea they voted for moves into “Under Consideration”.
.
Does this mean that people will only cash in influence for that idea if that "under consideration" idea then wins?
.
Or does it also mean that other influence is received even if that idea doesn't win (e.g. the influence will come from elsewhere)?-
My guess is that Influence lives or dies with the product, as with an item in Presale limbo.

i think “Under Consideration” is now the equivalent to the "top 5"; except now there is no time limit as to how long something can sit there.
.
Q could hold things there for months if they wanted, and you wouldn't be able to take your IP somewhere else. It's purgatory/jail for ideas. LOL -
