I think ideators need to be more in the loop on their specific inventions with whats going on and the direction the products are taking.. Instead of emailing QS if there is retailer interest and getting a yes or a no, tell ideators what the retailers are thinking. If they like the product whats holding up a wholesale order, if they do not, why.
and any other info that goes on regarding our product(s).
As an ideator myself, I have no problem signing an NDA to get information like this and I would assume others wouldn't either.

Hey Cody, we definitely want our ideators to feel included every step of the way. It is a delicate balance to share info that's not final, without raising false hopes or creating anxiety. It's very much on our minds to figure out the best ways to involve the ideator more.

Hey Shirley, I'm not sure about the other ideators but speaking for myself, I would much rather have false hopes in knowing that a retailer may (or may not) be interested in HydraDuo rather then worrying if Quirky is going to shut the product down similar to what happened with LugeCubes.

I think that if there is a system that Quirky uses to evaluate ideas internally that is a part of the website it would be helpful to give an ideator the ability to comment on the designs and rate them. At least giving us some idea of the timeline, so we know when the next phase of our idea will be announced rather than just throwing it up and having someone else submit our ideas as their own for the next round.

I agree and actually just posted a similar question before I saw this one...

It would be cool to have a ideator section on the website. Each product would be linked to the ideators account to give them access to a page that has detailed info on the design process, decisions being made about the product, results from all the design rounds, marketing strategy, retailer info, upcoming press, production updates, etc.
