Will I get banned from Quirky if I send messages to users asking them to vote and\or comment on my ideas?

Hi Seon. No, you will not get banned for this activity. However, it is not looked upon highly by staff and certainly not by our community members. It is considered an annoyance at best. I would say, let the merit of the idea speak for itself. And keep in mind that votes are not the final determinant of whether or not we pick an idea. We've chosen ideas with a hundred votes and ideas with one vote. So I wouldn't stress too much over vote counts. Best of luck.

can we make it official that it is bad etiquette to say anything about your idea when commenting on another persons idea? i have people saying "what a wonderful idea, voted." but the number of votes does not change, indicating that they did not vote. then at the bottom of their comment you have "oh, and by the way, check out my..." this is irritating to me. maybe im all alone.
This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled
how rude should it be to peddle your idea in a comment..-
Sometimes someone could vote while another un-votes, so the number of votes will not change.
With others advertising in their comments I find it a touchy area, because Quirky does not provide any notification, to members, indicating the new ideas that have been submitted. I had submitted an idea for this, see http://support.quirky.com/quirky/topi...
Also since votes are apart of the criteria to get products chosen, members have to find ways to get others to vote. -
