My two cents about Joule.

Things I would keep the same with the Joule:
The fixed base with the cord inlet.
The rotating body, with...
The LED "on" light.
The timer.
The single outlet.
The shape, with modification.

Things I would change:
Chop an inch off the height.
Make the top flat, or even rounded.
A field of heat resistant silicone fingers on the top - ala pen zen
- tall enough, firm enough, and spaced just right to hold an iron placed on top or leaned against them.

(If the Joule is shorter, the top will be bigger and the prop angle will be shallower...both of which are safer.)
(With a flat top and silicone fingers instead of the current "angled saddle", the iron can be easily propped or laid on the Joule from any angle. Convenient if it rotates during use or its outlet is not conveniently placed.)

nah - I'm just blabbin. It has already met the 9 month limit.

Just giving the QDS some ideas in case they did want to fix some of the inventor's concerns and give it another shot.

    Note:
This is another one of those cases where the QDS takes the inventor's invention, changes it drastically...(In this case they turned a timer into a stand...?)
...then, when they eventually tell the inventor,
"Well, apparently your invention wasn't viable",
the inventor is left standing there saying,
"My invention? That wasn't my invention. It was your invention. If you would have done my invention, it would have sold millions."

(I've heard Ben Kaufman speak twice, and both times he emphasized that every inventor wins when they submit...because they'll either make money, or learn that their invention isn't viable before wasting their own money on developing and patenting it.
But, by taking the invention away from the inventor, Quirky keeps that from happening.)
