The older posted inventions ARE getting lost and people are finding it very difficult to figure out what inventions they have reviewed and what inventions they haven't yet seen. This is because NEW inventions keep popping in. I suggest that the "Categories" submenus should show "Oldest Posted Inventions" first in their respective "Categories" and have no way of seeing "Most Active" and "Random." Most Active and Random should be left to the "All Categories" selection. Also, there needs to be a way of BOOKMARKING which invention the Quirky user stopped at in each Category. This would let the user come back at their convenience and find where they left off or maybe even be taken right to the bookmarked invention automatically. This would make reviewing each invention easier and it would ensure that each invention has a very good chance of being seen by everyone.

i think they are working on it....for the moment you can try this:
- Click in Participate on the tab 'Newest'
- the address bar will now show this: ww.quirky.com/participate?filters[]=most_recent
- remove 'most_recent'
- write 'oldest'
- the address bar will now show this: ww.quirky.com/participate?filters[]=oldest
- hit ENTER to load the new filter
.
bang bada bum...submissions are sorted oldest first -
-
they need to not only show oldest first but set pages so when you actually are looking at a particular invention you come back to "list" to the same invention you were just looking at on that particular page and dont have to continuely reload everything each time you go off the page..
-
showing the submissions in pages is much needed, i hope it will come soon. for now there is a little help to not have to reload the whole page after looking into one idea...
just use tab-browsing.
right-click on the idea - select 'open in new tab' - open tab and do what you need to do - when you are done close the tab and you are back in the overview where you have started. -

On ebay on can set up parameters that include "ending soon" This could be a sort for the more seasoned inventions. It seems highly unfair to be able to sort "Newest" and relagate the oldest to almost impossible to find.

Noted, thanks guys! We're watching how people use the sorts that are available now before deciding what to add or change. We'll keep this idea in mind.

I think it might be a good idea to put instead of the Random Tab for searching submission, to have an Ending Soon Tab. Thanks!

I agree with tyblossom and Jeff Thirtyacre who suggested an "ending soon tab" in the forum. An "ending soon tab" would give life back to some excellent ideas that have been lost in the crowd for weeks and give submitters hope for another day. :-)

I never use the "random tab" and I think I would use the "oldest" sort tab, especially since products are beginning to expire. At least it gives the ideas another chance at exposure.

Until Quirky adds a Oldest or Ending Soon tab to the Participation page, you can visit/bookmark this URL in the meantime to view ideas that will expire soon:
http://www.quirky.com/participate?fil...
Note: Some ideas may show up as already expired, so you will need to click on a few links first before finding an idea that still has time left on the clock. -
