Hey guys, we're working on a revamp of our group email system. It'll take a while, but the goal will be to provide great, detailed info to all inventors and community members!

Quirky site functions/design - my feedback to improve it:
on your Learn More page - Quirky tells site visitors to "check back often to see how people are commenting"
Quirky web designer "must" know of free PHP orother web scripts that automatically notify site commentors of responses to their/our posts. "check this box of you want to be notified by email when someone posts a reply. . ." This should be a "no-brainer" for Quirky.
- plenty of free "Share This" links and auto-posters too;
- FireFox add-ons to perform site-change notifications
- the classic free Site Update Robot reports by email.
Ya know what I mean?
If these enhanced capabilities have already been installed, how about updating your "Engage with Community" and "Learn about us" page?
"Engage with the Community
Once your idea is posted on the site, be sure to check back often to see how people are commenting. The best ideators check their comments section often and provide friendly replies, responses, and rebuttals. This shows community members that you are serious about your idea and stand behind it... a good way to win over some swing votes."

Three months... Time to bring this back up.
I understand that you are working on the next big revamp to the site, so just to avoid this from going unnoticed.

Hi Shirley,
I can refer you to some really terrific IT guys who could get this implemented VERY quickly. Let me know.
The length that this has been a problem would be unacceptable on many, many other sites.
What is the hang up? -

This is supposed to be a site for collaboration. How does Quirky figure you can collaborate if there is no notice that someone asked a question, replied to a comment, etc.?

I see that (some HTML allowed) in this "Reply to This Topic" box.
Why isn't basic HTML allowed when submitting an ideation on Quirky? At least allow a person to make a new paragraph, if nothing else!
Sad we can't use bold or strong code. Sad we can't use italics. Sad we can't use list code.
Even craigslist.org allows HTML in their posts.
Seriously, why haven't you made that an option? -
