Do ideas have to retail for less than $150?

Price point question. I heard in a video that quirky is looking for items up to 150.00 but I don't see anything more expensive than 50.00. Also I do not see many products on the shop page compared to whats on the up and cumming page. I remember shopping at cool gadget stores like the sharper image drooling over the new tech and innovations. Am I missing something? What kind of other markets are being pursued? I bet the community would love to help lead a marketing effort. No body fights harder for a company than some one who has time and energy invested.

As you've noticed, we've changed quite a bit and some of the info that's still floating around is outdated. We no longer have the $150.00 and under restriction. We're simply looking for amazing and innovative ideas--just make sure you're submitting ideas that are awesome, but not too far fetched. So hold off on the jetpacks and DeLorean time machines that need to generate 1.21 gigawatts of energy from plutonium.

Funny that you should mention that the community would be huge in helping our marketing efforts. In 2012, we're hoping to roll out more ways to leverage our community. One thing that just launched is our product testing opportunity to ensure that we are making quality products before putting them out to the general market.

Yeah I saw some one posted a time machine. LOL. It gives you something to talk about. :). Had not seen the Jet pack.

On leveraging the community. I am sure quirky is familiar with six degrees of separation. Some one knows somebody who is connected. Right now the community is mostly creative types who want to see there idea and the ideas of the products they like succeed. But the general population has not had the opportunity to view the products. We have a built in survey system of 1,000 to 1million. This gives quirky an edge to talk to major chains. Qirky Product Account Executive might be an opportunity position in the near future. Community part time account executives. Might also be a nice start.

Auto Zone, Pep Boys, or other auto accessory stores probably would love to have Thor your ice scraper. Amazon postings would be nice to see also.
