Way too heavy except the flimsy typing stabbed that broke in about an hour. The thin side pins snapped off like a toy from the dollar store.
Also, I was expecting more from the hinge and it's ability to hold the until at a low landscape angle. I see these pictures are gone from the site,
A bit disappointed and debating whether to return. I expected to be a champion, but the weight is too much and the quality too light.

Hi Jessica - same problem here. Occurred while wiping down the screen (e.g. very little pressure applied). Also raised the matter via email...
Regards, Grant-
We'll get back to you shortly.

Agreed. It's using a small long pin and with barely any force I bumped the open side of the case on a table and the shearing force broke the pin right off. :( Now what?

Hey guys, please make sure to email questions@quirky.com and include your order/invoice number. Jess and I will be responding to you as quickly as possible!

I bought a Cloak for my iPad and just love the design, functionality and feel. What a great product. But... before the first week was up, the small plastic riser broke. I think you call it the typing stand. It's the one that swivels out to place the iPad in it's landscape position ready for typing with one end about an inch off the table. One of the tiny little plastic "pins" that the riser swivels on broke. They needed to be sturdier. What are my options to fix it?

I already emailed questions@quirky.com and provided my order number.

Great, Andy... we'll be in touch about sending a replacement type stand.

I, too, have this issue. Emailed questions@quirky.com and awaiting response.

Same thing happened to me. One of the tiny plastic pins that attach the cover via the plastic hinge on my iPad cover already snapped off. The pin on the other side broke off shortly after.. I've had the cover less than a month. Seems unrealistic to expect 2 tiny plastic pieces to support this stand. I emailed questions@quirky.com today. I really liked this cover! Order # DIR20480 8-27-10. Any suggestions?
Shirley emailed me this morning. Problem solved! -

.My pin is about to break and I have not used the stand but 2 or 3 times. I have not used it since the stand popped out and the pin bent. Looking for refund

Hey Pat, got your email and answered it! Thanks for writing to us.

Add my name to the list of disappointed cloak purchasers. It is way too heavy and the stands are flimsy. I have used mine for 2 months and the typing stand has now broken. Lastly, not a show stopper, but I am kind of disappointed with the colouring as well (mine is blue). From the images on your site, I didn't expect the 2 different shades of blue.

I seem to have the same problem as everyone else, but mine lasted a little longer (probably because I used it less). Needless to say the pin on the hinge broke. I sent a letter to questions@quirky.com last week and heard nothing back. It seems some here have had success, so I guess I'll try again....

Hey Luke, thanks for alerting us, I've responded & we'll make things right! Hope you're enjoying all the other great functions of the Cloak.

I had the issue a while back (look up for my original post) and Quirky quickly sent me two (2) new replacement stands. While I applaud the quick response and eagerness that Quirky displayed in providing me with these parts, I also feel that it just prolongs the inevitable. The replacements will eventually break because they are exactly the same as the original that broke in the first week. This isn't a solution. I won't be buying anymore Quirky products for this reason. Sixty dollars is not a cheap case and I don't feel that the issue was adequately resolved by Quirky. Cheap parts replaced by more cheap parts don't necessitate a fix, but rather put the customer outside of a refund/replacement period.

Levi, thanks for your feedback, I'm reaching out to you by email. We're always happy to hear how we can continue getting better at what we do!

I like your products but please QA your replacement parts. My typing stand broke and quirky sent me a replacement one right away which was great. Only trouble is the replacement one had a half cast peg on one side where the plastic was flattened. What is left of the peg hasn't broken yet but any person who even took a briefly looked at the part wouldn't have sent out a replacement part in that condition.

Hey Deke, we definitely QA all replacement parts getting shipped out, but it sounds like we didn't package it correctly to avoid breakage in transit. I'm writing to you right now to figure out the best solution!

I can't find where I'm supposed to get more of the horizontal stands for the two cloaks that we have. I need replacements in Pink and Black. About 5 each should last through the month.

Hey there, I see your Cloak order in the system. I'll reach out by email to see what's up.

Same problem here. I suppose I could use the extra piece as a tongue depresser, but id rather have a fully functioning Cloak. Whats the fix? Is there a piece part replacement?

Hmm, we didn't test Cloak pieces for food safety so be careful. ;) We'll reach out to get full details on Mon!

Hello,
I have two of the black cloaks. Tonight one of them had one of the pins holding the main cover break off. Now the whole front cover is loose. I am in hopes you have a solution for this problem. Let me know if further explanation or photos.
Thanks! -
-
Hi. My green cloak has just broken - the pins Of the main hinge went. I haven't dropped nor bashed the beast - I simply picked it up and the front dropped off just now!
I've had it since October. Like others, I was disappointed about the low-angle performance - the photos made it look as though the hinge had some friction within it. But never mind - the solid front is the real benefit for me, as it reassures me that the screen will remain protected.
Also, after a few months, the hard plastic near the hinge has worn the back of the iPad very badly, which is definitely not why I bought a case in the first place.
What should I do? -

Hey guys, I've reached out to everyone to figure out solutions. Hope it's helpful!

Hi,
My Black Cloak has just broken with no bad treatment on my part. One of the plastic main hinge pieces just broke on it's own under normal use.
I really loved my Cloak and would appreciate having a replacement.
Have you improved the durability of the various plastic pins and pieces in the latest shipping model?
Thanks!
