I did not notice a UL certification on your PIVOT POWER unit. Is it UL Certified?
Thank you for a prompt response.

Evening. Our shop page for Pivot Power actually mentions that it conforms to UL standard number 1363. You can check this out for yourself here http://www.quirky.com/products/44-Piv...

So it's not officially UL certified. Who confirms the power strip conforms to UL standards?
-
-
why wouldn't (or isn't) the UL certification be on the packaging?
-
-
the ul symbol has to be on the unit. if not then this unit is not certified, and not safe to use in the US

Because it's not UL certified, nor is the manufacturer UL listed. It just means the power strip conformed to specifications established by UL but UL has not tested or certified the product.

Sorry I missed this when you first responded Christian. Intertek confirms UL conformity as part of their ETL Listed Mark (http://www.intertek.com/marks/etl/), which is on the back of the Pivot Power packaging.
The product page for Pivot Power in the online shop also lists the following (http://www.quirky.com/products/44-Piv...):
ETL/INTERTEK Tested: Control #4002869
Conforms to UL Std No 1363
Certified to CSA std C22.2 No 21
If you want to be extra thorough, you can look up the UL standards number on Intertek's Listed Products directory. Here's the Pivot Power's listing http://etlwhidirectory.etlsemko.com/W....
Thanks for looking out guys. In the future, please refer to the resources we provide (product packaging, the product purchasing page) before jumping to conclusions. Again, my apologies to Christian for missing his response when he first posted it. -
